Potential gerbil adopters have a lot of questions. One of the most frequently asked is "are boy gerbils or girl gerbils better?" Well, The Gerby Derby and Cedar Moon Gerbils have teamed up to answer this one for you! Check out the CMG blog to see our latest post. (Spoiler alert - you really can't go wrong!)
Good news, everybody! Fievel and Jane have decided to start a family! I can't wait to meet the new pups. They should be along around October 10th of this year (2014). I'll definitely keep you posted! I don't know for certain how many there will be or what they will look like, but given Fievel and Jane's respective genetics, there's a good chance they'll have some dark-eyed honey (like Jane), nutmeg, light dark-eyed honey, light nutmeg, and a healthy amount of spotted babes (like Fievel). As well, Jane definitely carries a recessive a and a recessive p, so if Fievel also carries a recessive p, they could have saffron or red-eyed honey babies. Regardless, DEH's and nutmegs tend to have very pretty pups, so I can't wait to see our little kiddos!
If you're interested, go ahead and let me know so I can reserve some of the pups for you ahead of time!
In case you can't tell from the pictures, Fievel's looking a little hen-pecked these days. Jane and Fievel seem to be building their relationship slowly, so I'm not sure when they'll start a family. I've learned a lot about just how much of my gerbils' behavior is under my control, and how much more of it is completely up to them! So I'll just sit back, let them get used to one another, and let nature take its course. I'll keep you posted!
